1. What we collect

Account & profile data (name, email, phone, city), startup details (startup name, sector, stage, website, team), pitch submissions (elevator pitch, problem, traction, ask, deck), event registrations and payment status (payment itself is processed by the gateway – we do not store card details), and basic usage data (device, pages, cookies/localStorage such as remembering that you dismissed our welcome message).

2. How we use it

To run your account, dashboard, events and Saturday pitching;
To verify carried-over registrations from our earlier portal by matching your email/details against our registration records;
To evaluate pitches (shared with our jury, mentors and screening team);
To publish your founder story and event media where you have submitted it for that purpose;
To send service messages, opportunity/funding alerts and event updates (you can opt out of non-essential emails);
To improve the Platform and prevent fraud/abuse.

3. Sharing

We share pitch and profile data with jurors, mentors and – where you seek investor connects – with relevant investors. We use trusted processors (hosting, email, analytics, payment gateway such as Razorpay). We do not sell your personal data. We may disclose data if required by law.

4. Data from the earlier portal

Registration records collected on our earlier portal (name, email, payment confirmation) are retained solely to honour and verify those registrations on this Platform. They are protected in the same way as data collected here.

5. Retention & your rights

We keep account data while your account is active and event records as required for legal/accounting purposes. Published founder stories remain live unless you request removal. You may access, correct, download or request deletion of your personal data by emailing pitchkaroindia.com@gmail.com. Deleting your account does not automatically delete records we must retain by law.

6. Cookies & localStorage

We use essential cookies for login sessions and localStorage for preferences (e.g., hiding the welcome popup after you dismiss it). Optional analytics, if enabled, are used in aggregate.

7. Security, children & changes

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards; no system is 100% secure. The Platform is intended for users 18+. We may update this policy and will post the new date above. Contact: pitchkaroindia.com@gmail.com.
