It started with something small

I ran Instagram for my aunt’s Chikankari boutique in Lucknow during lockdown. Orders came from Dubai and Toronto – and died at the courier desk because nobody knew how to export a ₹3,000 kurta.

The decision

I was doing my CA articleship. Numbers were safe. But every week another artisan aunty asked me “beta, foreign order kaise bhejein?” – and there was no honest answer to give them.

That decision is where PehchaanKart really began.

The part nobody posts about

Our first export batch was held at customs for 19 days over one wrong HS code. Three customers charged back. I refunded everyone from my stipend and nearly quit – my co-founder talked me out of it on a railway platform at midnight.

Then something shifted

We productised that exact failure: automated HS-code mapping and paperwork for craft categories. The next 200 shipments cleared without a single hold.

Where PehchaanKart stands today

PehchaanKart ships for 85 craft sellers to 14 countries – about 900 parcels a month – and we became profitable in March.
